I used to treat every “no” like a personal challenge.
I’d keep pushing, explaining, persuading… convinced I could persuade anybody to give in.
Most times it failed.
The few times it worked, something always broke afterward.
People grew colder. Quieter. More distant.
I didn’t realize I was teaching them that their boundaries didn’t matter to me.
Now I know: getting what you want means nothing if you lose respect in the process
