Telling lies is not a crime, but abusive language can be. Don't believe influencers who are lying to you.
Independent journalist only means someone not attached to a big news organisation. But to claim only those journalists who tow a particular line of thinking are independent and free from commercial, ideological & mob pressures is pure audience retention tactic. Journalistic work should be judged on merit alone and not labels.
