Even if we step back and say, fine, perhaps they were simply trying to understand the potential risks and mechanisms involved, the broader point is still horrifying. This was January 2021, a full month after the rollout of an industrial scale effort to inject this experimental product into billions of people, yet at the same time they were secretly discussing catastrophic consequences they did not understand. Just look at Biden Surgeon General Vivek Murthy’s reply to Fauci, speculating about the possibility of DNA mutations in fetuses. They had absolutely no idea what this stuff might do. And then, not only did they conceal these problems, but perhaps even worse, they forced this drug on the population under threat of losing their jobs, their ability to travel, and even their freedom.

Jeff Sessions is by all accounts a good man, but as attorney general he was hopelessly weak. Even so, it is difficult not to feel sorry for him when you see just how thoroughly he was railroaded over something so transparently false and contrived. The entire case against Sessions was that he failed to disclose two routine meet-and-greets with the Russian ambassador, the sort of encounters countless people in Washington had. But that was not what Sessions had actually been asked. He was asked whether he had been in contact with Russian officials about the 2016 election. He said no, because he had not. Then, as this newly released letter shows, Senators Leahy and Franken complained to Comey about his testimony, and the FBI promptly opened an investigation into Sessions. The whole thing was totally contrived from beginning to end. Yet the media will never tell the truth, Wikipedia remains riddled with lies about it, and history will sadly remember Jeff Sessions as the man who “lied about his contacts with Russia,” rather than as one of the earliest victims of a grotesquely corrupt political operation.

This is an incredibly important point. So many good people who go in to fix totally corrupted institutions get chewed up and spat out within five minutes, after which the institution carries on exactly as before. Some have criticized Jay Bhattacharya for seemingly playing along with the corrupt old guard, including allowing the deeply compromised Taubenberger to be Fauci’s successor. But Dr Bhattacharya has been proceeding methodically and surgically, and we may now actually end up with Dr Quay as the new Fauci, which would be an extraordinary outcome. None of this would have been possible if Dr Bhattacharya had charged in like a bull in a china shop. The institutional machinery would have closed ranks, destroyed him, forced him out, and carried on exactly as before.

This is the crux of it, and it is good to see AG Murrill taking it on. Nearly every catastrophic decision traces back to the concealment of the virus’s origin. That was the foundational deception from which everything else followed. Had Fauci not funded and empowered the Wuhan lab, including its access to advanced Western biotechnology, there may never have been a crisis to begin with. But even leaving that aside, once the virus appeared, honesty about its origin was essential because origin determined virtually everything about how the virus should have been understood and confronted. A virus engineered for efficient human infection does not behave like a newly emerged natural virus. The distinction made mass testing largely futile, contact tracing completely useless, explained why children faced far less risk because the virus had been lab optimized for ACE2 receptors, and carried many other critical scientific implications. The truth would also have forced immediate accountability, both for China and for Fauci himself. He could never have exercised the same unchecked reign of terror had the public known that he helped fund the experiments and the lab at the center of the outbreak. That is why the origin cover up sits at the heart of the entire Covid scandal. Fauci understood this from the beginning. His first priority was not to investigate what had happened, warn the public, or establish the facts. And the media is completely silent. That alone should disqualify them from any expectation of trust, access, or credibility when it comes to interviews, interactions with the Trump administration, or any role as an independent check on power. They have demonstrated that they are not acting as the media in any normal sense of the word, but rather as an institution protecting false narratives and suppressing information that the public has a right to know.
