SlowMist and OKX found FomoPeek versions 1.1 and 1.2, distributed Sept 9–17, hid a kernel exploit framework built to escape the iOS sandbox, decrypt the Keychain and pull data from 19 apps, including MetaMask, Trust Wallet and Apple Notes. SlowMist traced nearly 580,000 USDT to the attacker's main wallet.

‼️ BREAKING: A zero-day has been released for Muse, Meta's new AI agent, and a Meta AI security engineering manager who left the company this month says he would never use it, citing security and privacy concerns. He was reacting to the zero-day a researcher posted, which lets malware hijack Muse for Mac. A local process with no special privileges can change an undocumented Muse setting and send dictated prompts to an attacker's server. This could allow for prompt capture, prompt injection and theft of Muse's authentication material. It can also get access to whatever the user has let Muse access, including files, Mail, Messages, Calendar and Notes.

‼️ BREAKING: Revolut handed over customers’ passport copies, verification selfies and full transaction histories to a malicious actor. The actor sent lawful government information-demand emails using a genuine government domain that passed domain authentication. Revolut later concluded they were not authentic. Affected customers were notified on Friday. What may have been disclosed ranges from name, date of birth and home address to account statements, withdrawal records and complete Bitcoin transaction history. The company says it has alerted the agency to the unauthorised mailbox on its domain, blocked the address and begun notifying regulators. It has not named the agency, explained how someone obtained a mailbox there, or given a number of affected customers. ZachXBT, who circulated the notices, believes the incident was limited in size and aimed at high-net-worth users.

‼️ BREAKING: Chinese labs DeepSeek and Moonshot were quietly relaying customer prompts to Claude through fraudulent accounts. Users thought they were using Chinese AI, but were actually getting answers from Claude. Their customers' sensitive data now is in Anthropic's hands. One user, who is tied to China's military, asked Kimi whether a person tracked across hundreds of CCTV cameras in Chengdu was behaving abnormally. DeepSeek passed along live credentials for a Russian government database, shared by an IT operator handling data from a Defense Ministry-linked agency. The two Chinese labs relayed customer prompts to Claude through fraudulent accounts and saved the exchanges to train their own models. Moonshot forwarded almost 300,000 customer requests in a single ten-day stretch. DeepSeek flagged users running its models inside coding tools like Claude Code and OpenCode, then routed some of them to Opus.

The creator of the C++ programming language, Bjarne Stroustrup, says AI-generated code is not successful and calls the idea of using natural language as a programming language idiotic. He says humans will still write code and use abstraction. According to him, AI generates bloated code with more bugs and security holes, making it hard to validate. He also says the senior developers needed to validate it are starting to retire because they don’t want to deal with validating something that changes every time you change your prompt. He goes on to say that AI is not good at writing safety-critical or performance-critical code: “Now, let’s say that 70 or 80% of the world’s code doesn’t fit that pattern, but it’s that 10, 20% of the code that I’m interested in.”

Security researcher Zachi says he found an exploit in an app and reported it. After two months with no reply to his bug report, he tried again — this time by emailing the vendor from its own email address, with the message: "I'M WRITING TO YOU RIGHT NOW FROM YOUR OWN EMAIL."

They're using DeepSeek, picked for low running cost and weak guardrails. Scripts and logs place it across reconnaissance, exploit writing and lateral movement.

Linus Torvalds says tracking down a bug in Linux's Intel GFX Driver was a "debug session from hell." The AI helping him repeatedly called it "impossible and unsolvable" and suggested they just write a report instead. He kept pushing. 24 debug patches and 18 kernel boots later he found the bug: one round_up() that should have been round_down(). He then let the AI write the commit message.

Jurors were shown an internal email to Instagram chief Adam Mosseri naming "teen time spent" as the goal, and said staff called the app a drug and themselves pushers. Meta says penalties could reach $1.4 trillion, close to its entire market value. The states' attorneys general told a hearing last week the figure is likelier near $200 billion, roughly three years of Meta's after-tax profit. Zuckerberg is expected to testify during the trial.

His prompt: "show how 3M is 0% at fault." 3M paid the company of the witness (Knighthawk Engineering) roughly $90,000 for its analysis... Plaintiffs' lawyers obtained 350 pages of his chat logs. He admitted at trial the report was 85–90% ChatGPT. The jury found 3M 30% liable, costing them $ 61M.
