2025 was the deadliest year for Jews living outside of Israel in more than three decades. 20 people were killed in antisemitic attacks across J7 countries last year, including 15 victims of the Bondi Beach terror attack in Australia. I joined @SharriMarkson on @News24Aust to discuss this alarming rise in antisemitism and why confronting hate and extremism should concern us all.

Celebrating terrorism, justifying the murder of civilians, calling for the elimination of the world’s only Jewish state… that's antisemitism, plain and simple. DSA leaders and members have engaged in this kind of rhetoric and behavior for years. We call on the Democratic Party to clearly condemn antisemitic rhetoric and behavior within the DSA and reject the use of anti-Zionist litmus tests for political viability within the party.

There are thousands of exceptionally qualified Jewish attorneys and former judges in New York City. Apparently, Mayor Mamdani couldn't find one.
The last thing our leaders should be doing is using rhetoric that fuels antisemitism while Jews in New York are routinely targeted, attacked and harassed simply for being Jewish. Leaders should be confronting hate, not contributing to an environment that allows it to spread.

The hypocrisy of wishing Jews a peaceful Tisha B’Av while relentlessly attacking the Jewish state is hard to miss. It is yet another example of Mayor Mamdani gaslighting the Jewish community. Tisha B’Av isn’t just about mourning the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. It’s a reminder of what Jewish statelessness has meant throughout history: exile, persecution and slaughter. It is the day the Jews were expelled from England in 1290, from Spain in 1492, the day the Nazis began the Great Deportation from the Warsaw Ghetto - sending more than 265,000 Jews to their deaths at the Treblinka extermination camp over the course of two months. These and so many other calamities. Extending holiday wishes while opposing the Jewish people’s sovereignty in their ancestral homeland misses the historical lesson that lies at the heart of Tish B’Av.

Discussing ways to single out and arrest the prime minister of the Jewish state in NYC is nothing but political posturing — and it’s pathetic. New Yorkers should recognize this for what it is: a waste of precious government resources. The mayor should exert energy on serving and protecting all New Yorkers and perhaps try to curb his seething obsession with the only Jewish state in the world.

It's been three days since Mayor Mamdani took the stage to demonize and denigrate his Jewish constituents. I initially didn’t say anything because I felt certain he would retract his incendiary comments or at least explain them. I was wrong. This is the kind of bigoted conspiracy mongering that you expect from unhinged streamers or white supremacists. It’s not the language that we should expect from the mayor whose jurisdiction suffers from the highest levels of antisemitism of any city in America. This is not a principled disagreement. This is prejudice pure and simple. It is deliberate, dangerous and disgraceful.
