Colin’s thread is a clear look at what withdrawing from the 1951 Refugee Convention would actually require. It’s not just political will. It involves amending a thicket of domestic legislation, the near-necessity of also leaving the ECHR for it to have real effect, knock-on issues for the Good Friday Agreement and devolution settlements, trade agreements, and a process that could easily stretch years even with expedited powers. The problem with "standing with" someone solely on basis of his/her blackness, systemic racism or what have you is that when that someone is revealed as a fraud & a blaggard, one ends up looking foolish. Best to consider the evidence as it emerges. Perhaps a lesson for next time?

A public governor at this NHS Trust has been challenging its policies for 18 months - arguing they place female staff and patients at risk. He even reported the trust to the EHRC - and recently publicly opposed the reappointment of the Trust's chair. But nothing, it seemed, could spur this Trust into action. Extraordinary.

🚨NEW: A Green Party councillor has been arrested and charged with assault on five people, including police officers, in Birmingham. Siobhan Harper-Nunes was recently elected as a councillor in the Ladywood ward and also ran for the West Midlands mayoral election back in 2024. West Midlands Police says officers were called to reported disorder near the junction of Monument Road and Hagley Road on Thursday, August 6 before a woman was arrested on suspicion of assault. The Birmingham Green Party has said that she has been suspended from the Green Party Group with immediate effect pending an investigation.

We also hold in our hearts the other children who were hurt that day, the adults who tried to protect them, and every family, friend, classmate, teacher, and neighbour whose world was forever changed. The pain of that loss still echoes through Southport and far beyond. May Bebe, Elsie, and Alice be remembered not for the darkness of that day, but for the light they carried: their smiles, their kindness, their love of dancing, and the pure happiness they gave to everyone who knew them. Oh my God! I can scarcely comprehend this. A Scottish charity, LGBT Health and Wellbeing, is getting money from the Scottish Government to give 'Queer Milk' to babies! The chemical composition of the galactorrhea coming from the man's chest is completely and utterly irrelevant. This is child abuse, right out in the open right under our noses. And it is being supported and encouraged by the Scottish government. Here's what should happen: At the next meeting of this utterly abhorrent, 'Queer Milk Group', police should attend and arrest every single man who shows up, for carrying out child sexual abuse. And anyone involved in organising and enabling this disgusting, perverted, filthy practice, which I call 'Trans-Type Lactation Sexual Abuse' (TTLSA) should also be arrested. And the babies should be immediately removed and taken to a place of safety. Away from their fathers. And away from their mothers. How many times does this need to be said?
