the proposal is unserious and insulting unserious because it completely twists the protective nature of the BRCA into a weapon against devs insulting because, as @patrickjwitt noted, it is not representative of the negotiations the WH and Treasury have engaged in with LEOs these groups and CCM instead chose to leak this unworkable version to the press in an attempt to hinder progress for months, we, along with @fund_defi, @coincenter, @BlockchainAssn, @SolanaInstitute, @a16zcrypto, @paradigm and other allies have educated lawmakers, including CCM, on the need for dev protections in Clarity to ensure the success of this industry, especially as it relates to the competitiveness and national security of the United States we will continue to engage, in good faith, with those willing to work with us to resolution, but we will not entertain bad faith attempts to criminalize devs who publish and contribute to non-controlling, non-custodial software

The job is not done, but bipartisan momentum behind Clarity is a huge milestone Over the past several months, the industry has shown up and done the hard work, with tireless Senate staff, to get Clarity to a good place. The bill is not perfect (no bill is), but we @Uniswap believe it puts the US on a path to lead the next financial wave Importantly for DeFi and for devs, while there have been edits to BRCA, we believe the current draft still protects developers from overzealous prosecution under 1960 As written, the bill will keep well-intentioned non-custodial developers free from money-transmitter liability while ensuring that the future of finance is built in America. The BRCA is a must-include in any bill brought to the floor We have had many allies in this fight. In particular, I want to thank @BlockchainAssn and @fund_defi for their strong advocacy. We would not be at this moment without them We're also incredibly grateful for the bipartisan effort, especially from @berniemoreno, @SenLummis, @SenRubenGallego, @Sen_Alsobrooks, and @SenatorTimScott While some of our adversaries in Washington still think the old channels of closed-door advocacy are best, our future is built on open, consensus-building in the public square. Just like DeFi It’s time to pass the Clarity Act!
