Michigan has open primaries. Mike Rogers had the nomination locked. How many Republicans voted for Stevens?
In the presidential primary, a 1 percent win in Michigan, as El-Sayed's did, probably results in an overall delegate loss in the state, which would be another fun result lol.
He almost certainly won fewer congressional districts than Stevens. Districts 1,3,4,6,7 and maybe 5? While she won 2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13.

It's in general elections where they have issues.
Reminder that Michigan is an early primary state. Abdul El-Sayed's victory shows that a progressive *can* win in this midwestern primary state. But it shows they have to work that much harder when they are pilloried with outside money.

I think it's infuriating that the same people who demanded Democrats impeach Trump "to send a message" or "show voters we are fighting" are now like "impeachment, pffft, that's stupid shit. True fighters find another way."
The entire last decade of Democratic politics is leftists forcing Democrats to do things that fail, promising to reward them for trying even if it fails, and then blaming them for it failing and using it to their advantage. It's such bad-faith bullshit.
This also goes back to something I said in 2019 when I played the contrarian role of arguing against impeachment. "There is no 'try' in politics, only 'win.' If there's no guarantee of victory, don't bother."
