🦉Did You Know?🦉
One Sicilian immigrant spent everything he had on a gift America never asked for.
After the 1987 crash crushed Wall Street, Arturo Di Modica from Vittoria, Sicily, poured two years and nearly $350,000 of his own money into a 3½-ton bronze bull.
Then, in the dead of night on December 15, 1989, he and a few friends illegally dropped it under the Christmas tree right in front of the New York Stock Exchange.
By morning the police had hauled it away.
By that same night, New Yorkers demanded it back.
They got their wish. The Charging Bull still stands.
Sometimes the greatest acts of generosity come from people who could least afford them.
Did your family ever give something away they could not really afford?
