fkn love the awakening in @playgigaverse an absolute masterpiece. the music, the artwork, the way pixel graphics blend with shading and lighting to make the whole world feel alive huge respect to the pixel artists behind this. i know how difficult it is to express an idea on such a tiny canvas, where every single pixel matters. the amount of detail and character they manage to create with so little is genuinely absurd and the music deserves its own mention. there's something incredibly warm and atmospheric about it, the kind of soundtrack you can leave running for hours without ever getting tired of it. that's much harder to pull off than it sounds. it actually takes me back to playing the settlers on amiga, where the music was an integral part of the world itself this is only a precursor to what awaits us in the open world. if this is what they're doing with a tiny area like this, and the open world is 1000x bigger (probably!), i can't even imagine what the full thing is going to look like as for the two new game modes: the new game mechanics in both fishing and the dungeon are brilliant. the dungeon has endless replayability, with every run playing out differently and so many configurations to experiment with. i just had a run with two epic burn rings combined with the burn mastery upgrade. holy pyromancer, what an experience! and the 4x4 grid with dobbler in fishing is such a great addition. it adds another layer of decision-making, where you're constantly weighing risk vs reward. combined with fish oil, there's acrazy amount of strategy in figuring out how to play each catch time to giddy up and dive headfirst into the beautiful depths of the awakening

i have received lots of questions regarding the videos i have been sharing lately featuring a very strange looking @playgigaverse map tf is that?? extension? did you hack the map? etc. so here is the actual explanation back in december i started building a dungeon simulator to test whether my math/logic actually held up in practice. that was the entire goal fast forward 6 months and the project has mutated into something significantly more unhinged the original local simulator eventually turned into a fully fledged autobattler with a fully modular system behind it. every module is configurable, meaning users can create and customize their own bots in a couple of minutes without touching code my current stats: 37.7% all-time winrate in uh 83.5% in d5k then i started messing around with pixijs and realized i could recreate the gigaverse map itself instead of just simulating the dungeon logic behind it that turned out to be a very dangerous realization so naturally i started expanding the map: new rooms new npcs new interactions new ways of travelling (jeetpack) new systems basically just building whatever sounded fun at the time and honestly, as much as i enjoy the math/logic side of things, pixel stuff is just infinitely more entertaining to work on. im objectively terrible at it, but creating characters like orguk, rom lee and eggmund has been ridiculously fun alongside the autobattler systems i also started building utility tools directly into the map itself: rom claiming pet feeding fish cooking fish selling egg hatching potion crafting pot crushing etc then i added marketplaces directly onto the map: one for ingame items one for roms one for pets/eggs why use opensea when you can just walk over to a market stall and buy things directly inside the world itself eventually i realized a lot of these systems could be chained together into full automation pipelines eggmund rollington is one of those pipelines: buy egg buy materials influence egg eggspedite it roll the egg absolute vegas recently i also started integrating gigascanner data directly into the map through interactable objects touch the goblin statue in the garden and a leaderboard of the biggest item hoarders appears other objects open: fish lb pet lb faction data glhfers dashboards market data etc so what exactly is this thing? honestly, i dont even fully know anymore it started as a simulator then became an autobattler then became a map editor then became a collection of utility systems then somehow turned into whatever this is now it is currently in beta. around 30 users are testing it extensively and providing valuable feedback no set launch date yet, but june is looking promising
