Developers: we’re opening up an early alpha for custom blocks.
It’s a new Notion primitive for building interactive blocks that can read your workspaces and databases.
Very early, very experimental, and we’d love to learn from what you build with it!
🧵 to be one of our first alpha testers
an aspect of notion's engineering culture that i appreciate is that we like to pay homage to great software by translating those ideas into the product in a way that everyone, not just software engineers, can use and appreciate like databases, transclusions, etc.
this one is inspired by tools used by devops and infrastructure engineers: terraform/pulumi. though it may sound unlikely, it turns out a lot of the concepts invented to manage servers apply to managing a notion workspace!
Excited to share that the awesome @ZeroEntropy_AI
team joined @NotionHQ
We have already been collaborating for a long time. now we are working even closer. Anyone who can make search ranking 85% faster is a happy addition to the Notion team :)
Notion was never a note taking app.
The mission is literally to "make it possible for everyone to shape the tools that shape their lives".
Some people shape via code. Some shape via UI. Agents shape too. All three need a shared surface area.
Big release for consultants, agencies, systems integrators, and channel partners.
You can now set up a client’s entire workspace by describing what they need in plain English (or your own language!) No endless clicking; just tell AI what to build, and let the API deploy it.
It feels like I see this same GTM workflow in disguise across many teams:
> Customer marketing team combining internal channels + Salesforce to identify new prospects for stories
> Storytelling team tracking X sentiment, then grouping into themes at the end of the month
> Product teams tracking and closing the loop on a specific, feature-related feedback
Lot's of good inspo in this one.
“We think some of the best work has been done by teams together and we want to enable that collaboration layer. AI should bring us closer together, not make us more lonely.” - @akothari
Do you have @NotionHQ databases with more than 100K rows? Or complex workflows? We’re cooking up something that might unlock new possibilities for you!
Please DM @connors or me for early access!
