Probably both. @medeana and @natashaghoskins started @BoysClubWorld in 2021 as a dinner for women and nonbinary people who were crypto-curious but not particularly interested in being mansplained to by a guy with a Pudgy Penguin profile picture. Now it’s a New York media and creative studio behind the Malware newsletter, podcasts, and events, with @Cait_Cavell and @mirandamartell making a lot of it. Some of the only crypto content that feels like it was made by people who leave the house. Boys Club speaks two languages the industry rarely manages at once: onchain and online. One minute it’s stablecoins, venture funding, and market structure. The next it’s celebrity gossip, peptides, or whether Silicon Valley has invented another consumer product nobody asked for. That’s the whole appeal. It makes crypto feel less like a whitepaper and more like a 3am Telegram group: chaotic, informed, funny, and somehow useful. Crypto has never lacked boys. What it lacked was a club the girlies actually wanted to join.
