AI is not buying rare books in bulk, slicing off their spines, feeding their pages through scanners, or throwing them in the trash. AI does not have hands. The PEOPLE running AI companies are doing this. Theyโre buying these books and ordering them destroyed.

So if I purchase a DVD and digitize it, thatโs copyright infringement. But if an AI company buys my book and scans it to train their system, thatโs perfectly fine? Once again, corporations are allowed to play by their own rules. Iโm so sick of the hypocrisy.
