Yesterday saw 752 people cross the Channel by small boat - the highest number recorded this year. Some politicians and commentators seem to think the small boat problem has been largely resolved. This latest development proves otherwise. Andy Burnham, take note.

Jason Arday and the University of Cambridge very clearly have a case to answer. Yet the DEI-obsessed lanyard class want us to believe the claims are baseless and that anyone who thinks otherwise is driven by racist sentiment. Their response is indicative of how they approach every issue: if the truth is likely to get in the way of their political ideology, then the truth can take a hike, and anyone who speaks it must be besmirched and bullied into silence. These authoritarians must be faced down at every turn.

Reform really need to stop this nonsense immediately. It is making them look like complete hypocrites. You can’t purport to be passionate free speech advocates while demanding that a political opponent who inadvertently shared an unpleasant social media post (which did not actually amount to incitement) be arrested.

If Zack Polanski is not in police custody by this time tomorrow, the Police will have declared open season on Members of Parliament.
Will Hutton, a well-heeled member of the liberal intelligentsia, will never lose his job or business, or struggle to put food on the table, as a consequence of crippling energy bills. And even though Britain’s carbon emissions as a proportion of the global total are tiny, he thinks the rest of us should be made to suffer in such ways. For the likes of him, political posturing comes before recognising and addressing the grinding realities of everyday life.

Why do the media keep saying we've had seven prime ministers in 10 years? We've had seven in *16* years. The former calculation only works if you discount the first five years of David Cameron's premiership (2010-15) and include only his final year (2016). But, if you do that, it would mean that Britain had only two PMs between 1997 and 2015 (Blair and Brown), because obviously you couldn't include Cameron in *both* calculations. When calculating the number of PMs in a particular period, their *whole* tenure should be factored in, otherwise the figure ends up being misleading.

Very glad Spain won. But, to be fair, they took a ridiculous gamble by not bringing off all their attacking players and parking the bus immediately after they'd scored.

Shades of the 1990 World Cup final here. Argentina down to 10 men, resorting to the usual dirty tricks, and generally disgracing themselves. History repeating itself.
This performance illustrates just how Tuchel's ultra-defensive tactics in the Argentina game were so utterly unnecessary and self-destructive.
