Did you not even bother reading the thread? It says that, in addition to incurring direct incidence from tariffs, low-income households in particular changed their spending habits to cheaper goods because they lack the slack to absorb tariffs.

We've reached the point where a Marxist rant on Jacobin is indistinguishable from the X feeds of the Postliberal movement.
As I have pointed out since early 2025, the White House does not have a tariff agenda: it has about 5 or 6 tariff agendas that sometimes coalesce and sometimes undermine each other.
The main common thread is that Trump likes tariffs and will say yes to anything with that word.
