Californians are paying up to $8.69 for diesel at some gas stations while businesses are watching their fuel bills skyrocket.
Families and small businesses need relief from these crushing energy costs. Sacramento and Gavin Newsom should be focused on making California more affordable, not policies that make it even more expensive to keep our state moving.
Cut the state gas tax. Remove the costly cap-and-trade fee. Switch to the winter blend. California has the highest gas prices in the nation, and that’s not by accident.

Water. Wildfire. Waste.
We had a productive week in Washington delivering on the issues that matter to the North State.
We advanced major water priorities, worked to crack down on waste and fraud, and brought North State wildfire experience directly to federal officials.
We’re working hard to get more W’s for California’s First District.

Wildfire survivors and small business owners have already lost enough. They shouldn’t have to keep fighting for the restitution they’re owed.
Today, I joined survivors, local business owners, and community leaders in Santa Rosa to call on Governor Newsom to sign AB 2700, the Fire Victim Restitution and Recovery Act.
My legislation passed the Legislature with unanimous bipartisan support. It’s common sense: victims deserve to be made whole, and the utility responsible should be held accountable.
Governor Newsom should sign AB 2700.

This week, @RepGallagherCA1 and I introduced our Revitalize Rural America Act. Rural communities generate over $2 trillion in economic output, but they receive far less support than they need to thrive. Our bill boosts access to healthcare services, makes rural housing more affordable, brings workers back to rural areas, and delivers needed relief to farmers and ranchers.

As a sixth-generation Sacramento Valley farmer, I know what reliable water means to the North State.
I sent a letter to the California State Water Board urging them to reject their current Bay-Delta water plan and stop moving the goalposts on a collaborative approach that took years to build.
Our farmers and rural communities should not be left wondering how much water Sacramento will leave for them.
The Water Board needs to change course.

I introduced this resolution to rein in California’s regulatory overreach and stop an EPA waiver allowing Sacramento to impose its commercial harbor craft emissions mandate.
