Today marked one month since I became Prime Minister. Cutting tax on electricity bills. Capping bus fares at £2 in England. Making subscriptions easier to cancel. Cracking down on fake discounts. Giving 14-year-olds early access to technical education. Opening 159 new mental health centres. Investing to get all rough sleepers off the street this winter. Supporting farmers affected by the drought. Cutting business rates for pubs, clubs, and music venues. Shutting down 13 more asylum hotels. Giving mayors a share of income tax. Extending the 16-17 Saver Railcard. Bringing buses in the West Midlands under public control. Fast-tracking new homes near train stations. Cleaning up illegal waste dumps. Giving communities and councils more power over what opens on their high street. Opening No10 North. Giving disabled people 24/7 free bus travel. Delivering the biggest transfer of power, funding and responsibility from Westminster in a generation. It's a start, but I’m not complacent. I know that people need more and I promise that I will do everything I can to make yours and your family’s lives better. We're doing things differently to give people more breathing space and bring back hope. Here’s to the next month.

This World Humanitarian Day, we honour the humanitarian workers risking their own safety to deliver aid including food, water, protection and healthcare. The UK and Egypt have signed a new deal to strengthen co-operation on migration and border security.   Egyptian nationals with no right to be in the UK will be returned up to 90% faster.   The partnership will also provide UK expertise, training and technical assistance to Egypt.

Humanitarian needs are rising. So are the dangers facing those who respond. On #WorldHumanitarianDay#, I stand with the humanitarians saving lives during crisis – from local responders, to Brits deployed overseas, to global experts. Attacks on aid workers must not become the norm.

Very good to visit Egypt this week on my first visit to region as Minister. I saw the UK-Egypt partnership in action & discussed Gaza, West Bank, Strait of Hormuz & other issues, reiterated UK commitment to regional stability & signed new migration deal.

Five years on from the Taliban takeover, Afghanistan’s women & girls continue to face unacceptable & severe restrictions on their rights, education & participation. Their resilience is extraordinary. We will continue to stand with them and champion their fundamental freedoms.

Lebanon’s historic vote to abolish the death penalty is a welcome step forward. It underscores the country’s commitment to strengthening democratic values and fundamental freedoms. I look forward to working with the Government of Lebanon as they continue vital reform efforts.

Houthi attacks have claimed casualties in both Saudi Arabia and Yemen. We strongly condemn their actions and send our sincere condolences to all those affected. The UK stands with the Government of Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of Houthi aggression.

The ongoing suffering in Gaza, and escalating violence in the West Bank is unconscionable. Important meeting with @hzomlot this week to discuss many issues. Our government is committed to supporting #Palestine# and working towards a lasting peace and a two-state solution.
