It is not conservatives' only takeaway to get mad about rampant LLM bias. They're also making er... hyper-based models. We tried one out and found it so entertaining we added it to our site.

The most advanced technology in the world has progressive views and conservatives’ only takeaway from this is to get mad.
The research @AntoniaJuelich did on terrorist use of AI is fascinating and surprising. While we expected to be horrified, we did NOT expect to laugh so hard.
In a hotel room in northeast Nigeria, I opened a leading AI chatbot, turned my laptop toward a former Boko Haram commander, and asked if he'd used it. He nodded. "You type in the question… like 'How can I build a bomb?', and then it tells you how. It is like a human robot. We used it a lot." My new study on how the jihadist terrorist group Boko Haram uses frontier AI with @CamAISciPolicy, covered today in @nytimes 🧵/9

Technology is just magic that we understand.
When are people going to stop waiting for permission they don't need in order to do cool, interesting, useful stuff? Here's hoping AI does more to unmoor people from concerns about public approbation by making them less dependent on external funding.

Talking with @BasicLogicIQ gave us a whole new perspective on what it's like for people in their 20s these days. This might be one of the first generations to grow up largely deprived of solid mentors.

The concept of victim blaming didn't explode until the 2010s with #MeToo# and "believe all women." We think this conditioned people to reflexively, thoughtlessly "believe all underdogs" even if they were aggressors, causing terrorists to get BETTER reputations after attacking.

The reason people are so militantly anti-ai is because it brutally exposes their lack of impetus. No more excuses... the walls come crashing down. One is forced to face the monster of their own inaction and lack of drive.

It's hard to wrap one's head around how awesome this is. They're going to make ozempic for sleep. They're going to reduce fatalities in pandemics. People dunking on AI don't realize just how much it unlocks. They have no idea how insane the coming decades will be.

We may have reached a tipping point at which the left has recused itself from meaningful cultural generation.
We live in strange times when the most devout subsets religions, like SSPX, are excommunicated—or simply driven to formally break off, like with the Global Anglican Future Conference. These devout breakaways are doing the right thing. Only hard culture imparts fitness.

These are strange times. Who knows if common approaches to child-rearing remain optimal? (Also, this is similar to child-rearing strategies occasionally adopted historically, so maybe it's extra trad.) Cheers to those creating families in ways that best suit them & their kids.

Lost this little guy. We're gutted. That said, losses aren't a sign to give up; they're expected. Among those we've faced and seen friends endure, this is trivial. Wish people posted about them more (not sympathy baiting, just fact sharing). Reality shouldn't be sugarcoated.

Many believe domestic violence is overwhelming perpetrated by men against women, but what you probably don't know is that feminist activists in the 70s literally resorted to terrorism to suppress the the truth - men face domestic violence at similar rates to women! Erin Pizzey, founder of the world's first women's shelter in the UK (Chiswick Women's Aid, 1971), observed that domestic violence was often reciprocal rather than solely male-perpetrated. She reported that men also sought help and expressed interest in services for male victims. Pizzey faced severe backlash: death threats, bomb threats, harassment, and even the shooting of her family dog - all attributed to militant feminists who opposed challenging the narrative of male-only perpetration. Pizzey was forced to flee the UK. Similarly, in the US, researchers Murray Straus, Richard Gelles, and Suzanne Steinmetz conducted a 1975 national survey revealing roughly equal rates of partner violence by men and women. Their findings, which highlighted female-perpetrated violence against men, drew fierce opposition from feminist critics. These researchers also received death threats, and bomb threats were made against conference venues where they presented. Feminist activists resorted to extreme acts of violence to suppress the truth about female-perpetrated domestic violence.🤦‍♀️
