A nice look at Ship 44 in the Starfactory. TPS work on the nosecone is complete, forward flaps are installed, and it was stacked onto the payload bay! Another nosecone, possibly for Ship 45 if SpaceX hasn't made any changes with the count, is getting TPS work also done in Starfactory.

Starbase This Week (2026-08-16) | Written by @TheCosmicNebu1a Ship 40 continues floating around the ocean, will it ever make it to land? Flight 14 seems to be delayed, with neither vehicle appearing for any pre-flight testing. Welcome to this week’s Starbase This Week. Ship 40 On Wednesday, we got another update on S40’s progress, with it still being afloat despite some very poor weather in the area. On Friday, both GO Australis and Normand Ranger departed the area, leading to speculation that S40 may have been lost or scuttled, however this was proven false later that day. Interstellar Gateway provided another update on Saturday confirming that Ship 40 was still afloat. On Sunday, IGW again provided an update, confirming that S40 was back under tow, turned back from its prior roll and the messenger line was still in place. At the time of writing, S40 is under tow towards Christmas Island, despite the fact that the Port at Christmas Island has zero capability of handling S40. It is possible that this destination is to collect more recovery gear and/or pick up SpaceX employees who were dropped off there earlier. Production Site The new Pad 2 OLM Service Structure has been rolled from the Port to the Production Site, and was parked up for future use. It is currently unclear how exactly this structure will be used, as by appearances it cannot be used whilst a booster is mounted to the OLM. It is likely for service work on the hold down arms between flights, but how exactly they plan to install and remove it remains to be seen. Over in Megabay 1, Booster 22 completed stacking marking the second fully stacked Booster currently at the Production Site. B23’s CX:3 section was also spotted rolling from Starfactory to MB1. Ship 42 in Megabay 2 had some tiles removed from its LOX Tank area. Pad 1’s new OLM also began construction of its second level on Thursday. Masseys Massey’s was very quiet this week, with seemingly zero tests of any hardware present. Launch Site Over at the launch site, work continued on Pad 1’s upgrade campaign, with the trench taking shape, and more concrete being poured. Other Jared Isaacman held a press conference at the Kennedy Space Center’s Launch and Landing Facility in which he tentatively mentioned that Flight 14 could be early September. MEGABAY 1 UPDATE | @NASASpaceflight Booster 21 is still in the back left work stand as it prepares for its 33-engine Static Fire test. On Friday, Booster 22 got its methane tank lifted onto its lox tank, officially making it the 5th third-generation Super Heavy booster to be produced. Over the coming weeks, it will be outfitted with pressurization lines, COPVs, its chines, and other hardware ahead of cryogenic proof testing at the Massey's test site. If all goes well with B21, B22 could possibly be caught on Flight 15. Without wasting any time at all, SpaceX has already gotten started on Booster 23. It's common dome section, followed by the first out of six sections of the LOX tank, were moved out of Starfactory and into Megabay 1. Booster production is really picking up speed now.
