Today, at @UNESCO Headquarters, we commemorated the 7th International Day to Protect Education from Attack with the launch of “The Crossing”, a public installation highlighting the growing number of attacks on schools worldwide.
Together with the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to UNESCO and the @EAA_Foundation, we reaffirmed a clear message: education must be protected, including in times of conflict and crisis.

It was an honour to award the 2026 @UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICT in Education to the ‘Generation AI’ and ‘Redação Paraná’ programmes.
Both initiatives are recognized for their excellence in advancing AI literacy and showing how teachers and learners engage with AI systems in ways that foster critical thinking, creativity and imagination.
Since 2005, this prize has recognized innovative uses of new technologies to expand educational and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
