Yesterday the Shield of the Americas countries pledged joint action against all 24 U.S.-designated transnational narco-terrorist organizations and agreed to take steps towards activating the Rio Treaty to collectively impose sanctions. We are taking the fight to them.

Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States is fully mobilizing to support the people of Venezuela in the aftermath of these devastating earthquakes. @StateDept is working around the clock as we lead a massive response, supported by the @DeptofWar, to deploy urban search‑and‑rescue teams, critical relief supplies, emergency medical capabilities, and advanced technical support. The interim authorities have fully complied to accelerate this massive humanitarian response. As our Chief of Mission continues to lead the efforts to mobilize U.S. and international responders to reach communities in need, reopen vital infrastructure, and deliver life‑saving assistance we remain determined in our commitment to stand with the Venezuelan people.
