I hate to ruin everyone’s fun, but FIFA didn’t overturn Balogun’s suspension to benefit President Trump, they did it to benefit FIFA.

🗣️ A US official confirms to @Emilylgoodin that President Trump and Gianni Infantino spoke following Flo Balogun's red card.
"The President and Infantino did speak, and the President wanted to better understand the reason why a red card was given and why there was a suspension.
"The appeal process is run by an independent board. The US government provided additional evidence that was used in the appeal process."
