The open weights letter launched Thursday with 25 signatures. Reports put it near 50 a day later, and names keep landing. Bolt's is the one I'd flag. Eric's post below lays out the record: years of funding the OSS projects the web runs on, the OSS Pledge, open sourcing And Bolt sits at the application layer, where open weights are supply chain. What stays downloadable, inspectable, and swappable underneath decides what you can ship. The range of the list is the signal. Chip makers, clouds, labs, VCs, and a growing slice of the application layer are signing the same page, which makes it harder to wave off as labs talking their own book. Every AI product carries assumptions about what stays open underneath it. Bolt just put its assumptions in writing.
