Rent reduction is live on testnet.
Step 1 of SIMD-0437 just activated, the first of five feature gates cutting Solana's storage cost per byte by 90% overall.
End state after all five steps: lamports_per_byte drops 6,960 → 696. A token account's rent-exempt deposit goes from ~$0.16 to ~$0.016.
Cheaper accounts = cheaper deployments.

We've been looking at agave profiles after yesterday's massive spike and for the first time ever, not a single thing went wrong. Not even a minor glitch.
This despite the fact that we know 4.3 is already so much faster and less jittery than 4.2.
We can already do 10k tps easily. There is one last known bottleneck in turbine we're working on, after which we can do 100k and I can retire.
