The Gambling Commission have history on this. It took 3 and half years and FOI request to finally publish a 2021 survey where only 14% of 12,000 repsondents said they would provide info for affordability checks.

The Gambling Commission have refused someones FOI request on the Financial Risk Assessments Pilot.
Why cannot the GC just go ahead a publish all the reports and information that led to their decision to proceed?

No answer on this important policy question from @louie_french . Its all very well complaining about the GC bringing in affordability checks but if the solution is not to returning the normal situation where punters could bet their own money as they wish what is the point?

I don't think the affordability checks debacle can be blamed on one person. It's an institutional failure, with no one in a position of power willing to turn the oil tanker around.
