I’m willing to admit when I make a bad call. The Model YL *can* fit an adult comfortably in the back. And it only took hanging out with @DavidMoss at Tesla Tyson’s Corner, VA, to show me the light! There’s still no way you’ll get 6 carryons, 6 backpacks, and 6 people in here! 😂

Some good friends of ours are going to purchase their first Tesla next month. The husband had a test-drive vehicle for a day, but his wife was working and unable to experience FSD. So, being the Tesla fanboy I am, I decided to arrange for her first time FSD ride! 🚀

One of the simplest things for humans, but incredibly complex for machines, is anticipating the unpredictability of children. Here FSD rolls up in direct sun, spots the kid way before I did, and applies the brakes. But what came after stunned me. Another bike, and another, then a gap, and another bike (and a bonus scooter). At no time did FSD attempt to jump the gap between the children (even when it could have). There was no jitter or indecision. FSD just patiently waited until they all came around the corner and crossed the street. It stayed perfectly still so as not to scare the children. Just like a human would. I’ve seen a lot of amazing things with FSD, but this one really impressed me on a deeper level. As a father, I’m happy knowing more people are using Tesla FSD to keep their own kids safe and to ensure the safety of the kids on the road.

Speechless. We so much hate directed towards the Cybertruck that when something like this comes along, it really puts everything in perspective. It shows how twisted the hearts of some have become when in reality we should all just be like this little kid!

My thoughts on “gamifying” FSD. Showing statistics is not gamifying. It’s showing a statistic. I won’t change my driving habits over it. And I’m certainly not gonna let my car hit a pothole or miss an exit over it. I can’t imagine anyone would. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Almost bought a used 100K mile Honda Civic for my 16 year-old. Instead, I opted for a preowned lease on a Tesla Model 3 with 45K miles. After taxes, the monthly payment is $200. That’s less than we’d be spending on GAS for the Civic every month. And it’s still under warranty! Maybe we’ll buy it out in a few years, maybe we’ll turn it in and lease a brand new one. Either way, the cost savings of leasing (or owning) a Tesla can’t be ignored.
