I used to hate
@marclou.
I thought he didn't deserve his success. I thought he was a cheater and a liar.
Every post about his growing revenue upset me. I thought it wasn’t fair. I thought it was b.s. It made me feel angry.
But deep down, I was just unconsciously triggered.
Triggered because I was failing as an entrepreneur. Triggered because I wasn’t making enough money. Triggered because I was struggling while he was succeeding.
Until, one year ago, I took a break.
I got a well-paid job at a cool startup, stopped working on my projects, and uninstalled X.
No soul crushing pressure anymore. No worry of how to pay the rent at the end of the month. Just a simple job to do everyday, get paid for it, and enjoy my life in between.
And it healed me.
I finally had money, stopped feeling like a loser, and started to enjoy life much more.
Now I’m back on X and when I see Marc on my feed: I realize the problem was never him. The problem was the pain I had as an entrepreneur.
Marc isn’t doing anything wrong. He’s enjoying himself and making money. Like all of us are trying to do. You can dislike his style, but there’s nothing deeply problematic about him.
If you can’t appreciate it, maybe it’s a sign you’re unhappy with your life as an entrepreneur, like I was.
Maybe it's a sign you need to take a break and make a change.
