I met my indie hacker hero today 🤩
In 2022 he grew to $500k ARR and documented everything on Twitter.
I was so inspired I decided to follow his footpath and that’s partially how I ended up here today!
He shortened his family trip to come to the meetup, and he brought me 3 gifts 🥹
He’s very kind and exactly how you’d expect from reading his tweets.
Plus he owns a 3 letter .ai domain name.
Thanks for coming and for the inspiration Damon ❤️

I'm flying to Shanghai 🇨🇳 on Tuesday!
Where could I organize a get-together?
Who should I meet?
Can't wait to Chinamaxx in my 18° hotel room!
Actual reality I want:
Hotels made for people who care about sleep, fitness and workout.
All beds are eight sleep mattress, AC goes to 18deg, air purifiers everywhere, black out curtains.
The restaurant serves longevity food. My steak is not burnt, my brocoli is not soaked in cancer sauce.
The gym has proper weights and ergs so i can also do my cardio. There are daily classes so it’s fun and I meet people.
There’s a quiet working space. It’s laptop friendly, which attracts people like me building stuff online, not tourists or fat business executives.
I can travel to any country and find my favorite hotel chain.
This is the actual reality I want

OK, so it shows which of your X posts got impressions and clicks from Google SERP, and which are trending up or down.
So far, absolutely useless to me.
Maybe great if you run a big brand? Or an informational YouTube channel?

I'm not the best person to grow this startup and it has a HUGE potential.
Would love to find somebody that can take good care of it!

My honest opinion is that the AI bubble will pop 2-4 years from now.
And it will destroy the "aura" of entrepreneurship in our culture right now.
It will be a real wake up call, and most people will quit.
But the cockroaches will keep building through the crash and come out the other side with the next big wave of massive companies.

From my own experience:
- 2 years in B2C = $0
- 2 weeks in B2B = $500/mo
If I started over, I'd start with B2B.
It's boring, but you know exactly what they need: money and time.
It solves the #
1# issue founders make: Hallucination. Thinking that because an idea is cool, people will pay for it.
B2C is dating.
B2B is marriage.

MRR distribution B2B vs. B2C
It's easier to make $1K MRR with B2C, but you should build a boring business to make a living.
(n=5,193)
I’m stupidly optimistic.
Every time I start something new, whether it’s fitness, work, habits, I tell myself it will work out, even if the odds are stacked against me.
If a negative thought enters my head, it’s suppressed automatically.
I don’t always reach where I thought I’d end up, but I always end up in good places.
Investing is the only area where I’m pessimistic because the downside is huge.
Apart from that, there’s nothing to lose by believing you’ll win.
