I’ve been using ChatGPT Voice with Codex, and it’s changing how I get work done. Codex already lets me hand work to agents, but Voice means I don’t have to be sitting at my laptop to keep directing them. I can be out on a run, walking somewhere, or literally driving and still check in hands-free: – Walk me through the PRD, Slack channels, Notion docs, and GitHub PRs – Let's make a launch plan – What finished? – Pause that and prioritize this – What got stuck? – What needs my decision? – Show me the tradeoff between two options (or more!) – Let’s try the concise version That is much more interesting to me than Voice as dictation. I’m not just speaking a prompt I could have typed. I’m staying in an ongoing conversation with work that is already moving. The agents can do the slow, tool-heavy parts while I keep supplying judgment: clarifying the goal, answering questions, catching a bad direction, and deciding what should happen next. It makes Codex feel less like a tool I need to sit down and operate and more like a team I can stay in conversation with as I move through my day. Voice doesn’t do the work for me, but it keeps me in the loop while the agents do. And yes, I’m literally talking this post through with Voice while one of those agents helps me write it 😉
