🚨| The current situation in Ceuta is the predictable result of years of policy choices that have weakened deterrence, encouraged illegal migration and undermined confidence in Europe’s ability to protect its external borders. More than 1,500 illegal migrants have arrived at Spain’s external border in recent days. Around 300 new arrivals are being recorded every day in Ceuta. Facilities for unaccompanied minors are operating at 2,400% of their capacity, placing enormous pressure on local authorities. 👌| ZERO illegal migration! ECR is fighting for your safety and your freedom before it is too late. Europe is OUR home and its future must be shaped by us, not by uncontrolled illegal migration.

The renewed migration crisis in Ceuta once again demonstrates the consequences of migration policies that send the wrong signals. The current situation is the predictable result of years of policy choices that have weakened deterrence, encouraged illegal migration and undermined confidence in Europe’s ability to protect its external borders. ECR Group Co-Chairman Nicola Procaccini said: “What we are witnessing in Ceuta is the direct result of years of weakness, mixed messages and political denial. When a government regularises illegal residence on a massive scale, it should not be surprised when many more people conclude that reaching Europe illegally will eventually be rewarded. “Europe must regain control of its external borders. Frontex must be substantially strengthened with the resources, personnel and capabilities needed to support frontline Member States. Those who enter the European Union illegally and have no right to remain must be returned without delay.” ECR Group Co-Chairman Patryk Jaki said: “Pedro Sánchez’s policy of mass regularisation has sent precisely the wrong message to migrants and smugglers: enter illegally, remain long enough, and political decisions may eventually legalise your presence. “Illegal entry must never become a shortcut to legal residence, permanent status or citizenship. Decisions taken by a Member State have consequences for the entire Schengen Area. The European Commission must therefore assess the cross-border impact of such policies and ensure that national migration decisions do not undermine the security of other Member States.” Diego Solier, leader of the Spanish ECR Delegation, said: “The people of Ceuta should now not be left alone with the consequences of irresponsible migration policies. Europe must stand with Ceuta. “The Sánchez government has consistently prioritised ideological gestures over effective border management. Spain needs a government that protects its borders, dismantles the business model of people smugglers and restores confidence that illegal entry will not lead to legal residence.“

‼️🦁 | From tech neutrality to aid conditionality and returns, the ECR Group is delivering real change in EU policies. During the latest plenary vote on the EIB report, guiding EU #investment# policies, the European Parliament backed our line. EU funds for non-EU partners must now strengthen migration management and return procedures, while energy funding shifts to non-ideological criteria, paving the way for low-carbon energy and nuclear power. 📢 Pragmatism and common sense are finally shaping EU policies on migration, energy and taxpayer funds, highlights MEP @ruggerorazza. #RuggeroRazza#

The European Parliament has voted on a crucial report backing stronger cooperation with democratic partners in the Indo-Pacific. This breakthrough demands deeper defense and economic partnerships with trusted allies like Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan to counter rising global threats. #AdamBielan#

🔋 | We need REALISM in our transition! True sustainability requires a common-sense approach, not ideological blind spots. ‼️Relying entirely on electric alternatives ignores the strategic realities of sectors like defense and heavy logistics. We must invest in European biofuels, utilize our raw materials, and support our workers to achieve true autonomy while protecting what is genuinely European. #ElenaDonazzan#

If AI systems are manipulated or hacked, it’s not just our data at risk: it’s our opinions, decisions and freedom. To secure our digital future and lead in tech, Europe must support innovation and keep its leading companies right here at home, says ECR MEP @diesofer. ‼️Less bureaucratic burden, more support for European innovation. #DiegoSolier#

✂️ | WHAT is the ETS system and WHY is it time to cut it? The Emissions Trading System (ETS) is the EU carbon market that forces businesses and industries to buy emission allowances. ETS is currently driving up costs for households, fueling financial speculation and pushing European jobs and industries out of the continent. Climate policy cannot come at the expense of our economic reality. That is why our ECR MEPs are fighting for a fundamental REFORM that protects businesses, safeguards key industrial sectors and halts unrealistic targets. ‼️ Less ideological burden, more support for European jobs and industry. #ECRGroup#
