I agree. I also think that people being unsure about the model initially is a fair take, and one that leads to deeper research into the history and critical thinking about the pros/cons - and also healthy discourse within the community.
The alternative would be blind tribalism. Willingness to respectfully disagree, debate and talk through ideas in the open is one of my favorite aspects of the ZEC community.

Zcash has the potential to be the most attractive place to build for the best developers, researchers, and security engineers in the world, and for anyone passionate about the importance of permissionless private money, that is available to EVERYONE.
A higher $zec price, given the block subsidy to the committee, and their ability to fuel with a WAR CHEST of resources is a big deal. It’s not just miners who are happy.
This is not talked about enough.
(And the ecosystem will 100% include some BTC maxis that are starting to open their eyes.)
