Who’s ready to change their :( to a :)
On a previous episode of Tea with GaryVee I was asked about Angie, who built her identity around work, long hours, and ambition in her 20s and 30s. At around age 40, she decided she wanted peace, quiet, fewer meetings, and deeper relationships. However, because hustle defined her for so long, she now feels guilty, overly privileged, and as though she is falling off.

Work-life balance to me is happiness on all equations.
It's not about clocking hours at home vs. the office. It’s about being present wherever you are. There’s no single blueprint. No one-size-fits-all. And that’s the point. Your version of balance is yours to define — as long as it’s rooted in intent.
And reminder 🚨… you can change your “work life balance” every year based on the realities of your life. It’s your life .. not anyone else’s. ❤️❤️❤️ Give yourself some Grace! You’re trying !!!

In the end, none of the shit that you're worried about is going to actually matter.
You all know the stuff you worry about 99% of time is dumb shit, especially when you play it out and think about what you’re actually gonna be worried about later in your life. So my question is, why are you letting fear dictate all your decisions? Why are you letting petty judgment of others that you barely know dictate how you navigate life? Why are you so so so stubborn and not willing to listen to your intuition?

Why have we gotten into a place where 1 or 2 or 3 things that you're not as good at are eating up all the oxygen?
My friends, every one of you is great at something.
Stop 🛑 worrying and start living life … too many of you aren’t living the life you want because you’re worried about the judgment of people that you don’t often even know
Reminder 🚨: everybody else has their own problems and are worried about “your” judgment so they don’t have time to judge your actions

My great hope for 2050 to 2060 is that the advancements of technology actually bring us back to simplicity.
You can be content with where you are and still have enormous ambition to grow.
Hollywood is as traditional as corporations on Madison Avenue and as politics.
And I am passionate because I think it is really sad.
There are some really quality movies that do not get discovered. And then there are, subjectively, some very average movies that would do much better at the box office if people knew they existed or were intrigued enough to consider them.

There’s a difference between optimism and delusion.
If you’re saying, “I’m the best rapper,” but you’ve put out 50 songs and they have 19 listens on SoundCloud, you can’t just say, “The world doesn’t get me.”
When met with facts, you must accept that. It’s on you to change your sound, write better, get better beats, be patient. That’s accountability: I can change it.

People ask me, "How do you know when an idea deserves more patience versus when it’s just not working?"
You don’t. No one does. Sometimes you have intuition, but often you have to guess.
I had this project called Podcast with Friends which I thought was gonna change my career. Biggest podcast ever. I think I killed it 3 minutes into the first episode in my head.
But maybe I was wrong. Maybe the execution was bad, but the idea was great. I don’t know... You just gotta try things and balance listening to your intuition, and letting the market decide.

Become a "maybe" person. It allows you to critically think, not jump to conclusions, and it will open up doors of joy in your personal and professional life that had no chance of being opened if you're defaulting into no.
