I like this framing. AI output as a super-stimulus; something that will only be more true as models improve
I think we have to admit to ourselves at this point that AI writing is generally very appealing to people who haven't been exposed to a ton of it: they prefer it to human writing and react super positively on exposure.

if you think AI chatter has reached an annoying level right now you're in for something else. it's going to be the only thing on anybody's mind starting shortly
For years my stance on pausing AI has been, “Pause and do what?” Whatever alignment work you’d do given a pause, your finite effort is better spent doing that work faster vs. advocating for more time.
Lab calls to pace the frontier have given me some doubt. A bit less sure now.
