DHS just posted:
.
@USCIS is eliminating delays in the asylum process so we can more efficiently hear illegal aliens’ claims and fulfill
@POTUS Trump’s immigration agenda.
What they’re doing: For certain affirmative asylum applications, USCIS can now refer cases directly to immigration judges — skipping the usual asylum interview. The rule takes effect immediately. The goal is to slash the massive backlog and stop people from using the asylum system as a delay tactic + free work permit.
USCIS Director put it clearly: The asylum system exists to protect people with genuine fear of persecution — not to be exploited for delay and work authorization. Resources must go to real claims first.
This is exactly what the Trump administration is delivering — stop the abuse, speed up the process, remove the bad actors faster, and properly adjudicate the legitimate ones.
Support this. Keep clearing the backlog and closing the loopholes.
