A man in my building says his marriage “ruined his life.”
He got married 3 months ago through relatives.
Just 10 days later, his wife started having seizures. Doctors diagnosed epilepsy.
Since then, he has taken her to the hospital almost 10 times.
Today he called both families and broke down:
“Why did you people hide this from me? You ruined my life.”
Now he wants a divorce. Her family and the relatives who arranged the marriage are refusing.
I know him personally. He is genuinely a good person.
But here is the question:
Should a complete medical checkup and disclosure of major health conditions be mandatory before marriage?
Or does everyone have the right to keep their medical history private?
