Four weeks ago, Cristian Romero and Djed Spence were facing off in a World Cup semi-final.
This week they could both be sold by Tottenham Hotspur.
The club have traditionally had a complicated relationship with selling. The problem for Spurs was not the big deals. It was everything else.
On so many occasions, Tottenham failed to sell at the right time, missing the chance to move players on when there was a genuine market for them.
That's why if Spurs sell Romero and Spence, it would signal a dramatic shift in their transfer policy.

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Inter over a deal to sell Djed Spence to the Italian side for a fee in the region of €30m (£25.6m).
A source close to the situation said Spence is keen on a move to the Serie A champions, who are in the market for a new right-back after the sale of Denzel Dumfries to Real Madrid.

Only a small part of the Kevin Keegan story but I was completely in love with his City team, Ali Benarbia, Eyal Berkovic, Shaun Wright-Phillips etc. You had to be *such* a football optimist and romantic to build a team like that in the Championship, especially 25 years ago. RIP.
