I sometimes revisit theoretical books or books I once read for work, and I think one of the greatest things about books is that they allow us to glimpse, even if only in fragments, worlds that were invisible to us through the small openings left behind by brilliant minds. I can hardly imagine how deeply people in antiquity or the Middle Ages must have contemplated the world.
