If you’re wondering why California taxes are so high but there’s still drugs and petty crime everywhere, Governor @GavinNewsom paid $32B of state funds to straight up fraud and then refused to fund $650M for public safety that was overwhelmingly passed by voters (Prop 36).

This remains the barometer for @sfgov incompetency. Progressives destroyed the Grant statue over half a decade ago. There are zero external dependencies to do the repair. @sfgov still refuses to do it.

I need you to understand how retarded @sfgov is: 5 years ago, the Board of Supervisors *unanimously* appointed a felony kidnapper to a City Commissioner role. Turns out this guy has also been going around raping. @sfgov currently has no way of removing him, so @sfbos is burning legislative sessions and taxes on making new laws so they can fire the rapist/kidnapper that they hired. The best part: @sfgov has hired ANOTHER rapist, Jon Jacobo, as a commissioner in the same time period.

Not only was progressive San Francisco Supervisor candidate @GaryMccoySF committing graft at a sketchy NGO, he has charges for Grand Larceny and probation violations. You wouldn’t let him near your children, definitely don’t vote for him. These people are a cancer for @sfgov.

Now that it’s clear that data centers enrich their neighboring areas, politicians are trying to argue that they enrich the area too much. Every one of these people is a petty tyrant with a savior complex.

It’s broadly true that the Asian diaspora can be politically apathetic outside of public safety and competent public education. The fact that @CA_Dem’s have so mismanaged both while apparently taking pride in doing so is an own goal.

You’ve heard of DRAM, HBM, probably SRAM, but RDRAM…now that was a weird one. Famously used in the Sony PS2, its RDRAM had ~3x the bandwidth of your typical high end PC. If you want more memory bandwidth in a dense die, there’s (roughly) two things you can do. You can *add* many more wires (wide+close, like hbm). Or, you can make the wires *faster* and use less of them (narrow). Rambus, the creator of RDRAM, took the second bet. It was quite contrarian, but garnered some attention from Intel as well. The main issue, among others, is that RDRAM was expensive, AND high latency. For typical PC-style workloads, random access latency dominates, so it was a tough sell. Although the PS2 was a roaring success (high-bw streaming workloads made sense), it barely lasted ~3 years in the PC market. Like many ideas, Rambus+RDRAM was arguably just way, way too early. Today, CXL memory uses many of the same initial principles! If you think about a pin-efficient, high speed link, over longer distances…well, that’s kinda just CXL. Funnily enough, Rambus still exists, and is heavily involved in CXL memory controller IP these days!
