She came all the way from Jacksonville, Florida to finally see Noah’s Ark for herself. Stephanie had dreamed of visiting the Durupınar site for years. When she finally made it, she spent the day taking photos, exploring the site, and eventually sat down to pray. That’s when she noticed something at her feet. She picked up what she thought was an ordinary rock and used an app on her phone to identify it. The app identified it as petrified wood. We haven’t had the object scientifically tested, so we’re not claiming it came from the Ark. But hearing Stephanie describe that moment, praying with her hand resting on something that might be wood, gives you a glimpse of what makes this place so extraordinary. The world is watching what is happening at Durupınar. Our team now includes nearly 20 scientists and researchers from around the world, alongside our Turkish team, all working together to investigate what lies beneath the formation. But this investigation doesn't happen without people behind it. Scientists, geophysical surveys, laboratory testing, equipment, travel and fieldwork all come with real costs. The first testing at what we believe could be the resting place of Noah’s Ark is officially underway. After months of radar scanning, ERT surveys, mapping, and soil sampling, the team has finally taken the next major step: drilling. It’s been a long road to reach this point, and watching that drill turn for the first time was an incredible moment. Now comes the part we’ve been waiting for. We get to see what comes back up.

Huge Update from the Noah’s Ark 2026 Scientific Expedition: Shallow drilling has officially begun today, and it has been a VERY exciting day. We are carefully drilling down 2 meters and will be collecting over 1,400 samples across the area including in the ark formation. Deeper drilling is planned in approximately 6–7 locations, reaching depths of up to 20 meters. Because the diameter of these holes is very narrow, we are not able to send in a drone at this stage. But, this current phase is an important test as we prepare for next month’s deeper core drilling work. Every step is being taken with precision and care as we continue investigating this remarkable site in the Mountains of Ararat. This is where things get very exciting. Over 4,000 years ago, Noah and his family stepped off the Ark onto the mountains of Ararat and into a world completely transformed by a catastrophic global flood. There is something profoundly special about standing in that same place—where creation began anew. This week has been especially exciting. Expert scientist Dr. Bakhtar has revealed that the formation is not a homogeneous rock structure. Our team of soil scientists is now on site at the Ark-shaped formation, collecting more than 200 soil and rock samples from the rim, the slopes, the earth flow, unusual features, and the nearby hillsides for comparison.
