This investment will expand preventive care and nutrition services, improve access to mental health and substance use disorder treatment, and help communities tackle chronic disease at its roots. We are giving more Americans the tools to live healthier lives and Make America Healthy Again.

Public service must serve the public—not the personal interests of government officials. Recently published records revealed that Dr. Fauci used his federal position to solicit nominations for private awards from individuals affiliated with institutions funded by his own agency—including an effort that resulted in a nearly $900,000 award. Our new legal guidance makes clear that HHS officials who solicit personal award nominations from entities funded, regulated, contracted, or otherwise engaged by programs they oversee warrant investigation under federal ethics standards.
