Just a reminder that the card on the left was heavily criticized before its release, only for collector sentiment to shift significantly once people saw it in person.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the Mega Rayquaza ex SIR follows a similar path when it officially releases.

Two of the 10 original Shining Pokémon have now received reprints.
If Pokémon continues releasing major anniversary sets every five years and keeps revisiting the Shining lineup, there’s technically enough time to bring back the entire original roster by the 70th anniversary.
At this rate, completing a modern version of the original Shining lineup could become a very long-term collecting goal.

Illustrated by Katsunori Sato, this Illustration Rare perfectly captures Wailord’s massive scale, with the surrounding ocean and smaller objects making it feel even larger.
A beautiful card that remains surprisingly affordable.

Crystal Lugia was an incredible choice, but any of these three would have been just as exciting.
The original Crystal Pokémon remain some of the most iconic cards from the e-Card era, so seeing another one revisited for Pokémon’s 35th anniversary would be amazing.
Hopefully Lugia isn’t the last Crystal card to get this treatment.
