Non golf tweet. But one of my most important tweets I’ve put out. A follower who has become a good friend has a son who has gone thru a shit storm over the last month. And he needs our help. Kettler is a Navy Officer and in mid August he had an allergic reaction to something. At first the doctors thought it was something minor and sent him home with Antibiotics. Just a few days later he woke up in severe pain, and was sent to the ER, they realized he was in great danger and sent immediately in an ambulance to the burn unit at Loyola. His skin was literally burning off his body from the allergenic reaction. He was admitted to ICU and diagnosed with Steven Johnson Syndrome. His case was so severe that it was nearly fatal. All of which came from the Antibiotics prescribed in the first visit. Kettles dad Skip has left his job to come care for him and the family is renting an Airbnb. Kettler is out of the hospital but can barely open his eyes and his recovery will be a long term process. Skip is staying in Chicago area to transfer him back and forth to rehab and help with every day activities. Kettler is not allowed back on base per doctors orders. On top of that there is a dispute about who is responsible for the medical bills and as of right now the family might be on the hook for them. Kettler is devastated that his Navy career could possible be over. He wanted so badly to follow in his grandfathers footsteps who was in the navy for 32 years. Help if you can.
