Once again, Europe woke up to reckless and dangerous Russian behaviour.
A Russian warship fired emergency flares dangerously close to a Danish helicopter.
A drone entered Lithuanian airspace before being destroyed by NATO fighter jets.
These are not isolated incidents. They are part of a broader pattern of Russian aggression and provocation against Europe, testing our readiness and our resolve.
Russia will find our resolve only growing stronger.
We are reinforcing our collective deterrence and defence, together with NATO. And we are stepping up the pressure on Russia.

Today, Romania destroyed a naval drone carrying explosives near its Neptun Deep platform in the Black Sea.
An escalating campaign of threats is underway, unsettling our citizens and seeking to divide our Union.
This is hybrid warfare.
The founding mission of our Union is to preserve peace. Today, that also means having the capacity to deter provocation and aggression.
Our Readiness 2030 agenda is mobilising up to EUR 800 billion.
With the European Drone Defence Initiative and the Eastern Flank Watch, we are scaling up production in Europe to deliver capabilities Member States need.
So we can respond to emerging threats with speed, unity and resolve.

The images coming from Ceuta are unacceptable.
We cannot allow anyone to come to our Union without abiding by our rules.
Dangerous crossings must stop immediately. Smuggling networks must be dismantled. And returns must be swift, as our rules allow.
I tasked two Commissioners to support to control the situation.
@magnusbrunner is already working closely with Spain and is ready to travel to critical points.
He will work on additional operational support to Spain, including through Frontex.
@dubravkasuica is in contact with her Moroccan counterpart.
I am confident that our close partnership with Morocco will help deliver concrete results.

I want to offer my condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of Russia’s latest attacks in the Kyiv region and in Sloviansk.
During the strikes, Russia has also destroyed Latvia’s Honorary Consulate.
Once again proving its complete disregard for diplomacy.
Europe stands in full solidarity with Latvia and Ukraine.
Russia is losing the war it started, and is increasingly targeting civilians in a desperate attempt to crush Ukraine’s spirit.

From today, customs duties apply to e-commerce parcels worth up to €150 entering the EU.
30 million Europeans work in retail; it's our our largest private-sector employer.
And the surge in low-value online imports has put our retailers at an unfair disadvantage.
Too many of these products also fail to meet EU safety standards, putting consumers at risk.
