Thanks for having me!
Parasma Founder & CEO @vytalow, who previously went viral for training human brain cells to play Doom, says that using them for compute could be far more energy-efficient than today's silicon chips. "Regardless of how efficient we make silicon, we still haven't solved the efficiency aspect of it, in terms of power efficiency." "I think human brains are extremely power efficient in comparison to silicon." "There are things that we can harness [with human brain cells] on top of other stuff like sample efficiency and continual learning."

Introducing Parasma. Previously, we trained human brain cells to play Doom. Now, we trained them to predict words in a sentence. We are unlocking human brain cells for compute. Learn more here: @ParasmaAI

Happy Thursday. On today's show: - @ibab (River AI) - @branninmcbee (CoreWeave) - @glangley (Flock Safety) - @sonyatweetybird (Sequoia) - @vytalow (Parasma) See you on the stream.
unbelievably horrible take
This is exactly why @demishassabis shouldn’t have won the Nobel. No ingenuity or thought process. Just brute force from unlimited money, unlimited compute and unlimited staff (from Google).
The current @ycombinator batch is very impressive. Almost half the founders are building hardware. Back in my batch there were only 3 deep tech companies - @boomsupersonic, @Astranis and @relativityspace.

Come work for us!
Highest paid job opening for a YC company. Fun Fact: Their batch hasn’t even begun
Training human brain cells for compute got me into the @ycombinator S26 batch! Solve really hard problems and change the world I am also looking to grow the team, if you love RL leave a comment and DM me so I see it!

A jar of living neurons just beat a top AI chip at learning. 5,000 to 1. Chips can catch up by training in simulations faster than real time. But real robots can't speed-run reality. In the physical world, neurons might actually win. That’s why Cortical Labs has been quietly building this future for years, running AI on living neurons instead of silicon.

Got accepted into the @ycombinator S26 batch as @ParasmaAI with no product, no revenue, no cofounder and not being from the US. If you have a great idea, just apply!

If you're a naturally anxious person, I recommend pursuing a high stress career path where at least you'll be compensated for anxiety you're going to have anyways.

I love that games have been the testbed for so many fundamental advances in AI, happy to see it keep going!!
We’re partnering with the developers of @EveOnline to explore the next frontier of AI research in games. EVE's complex, player-driven universe is the perfect safe sandbox to test agents on memory, continual learning, and long-term planning. Find out more →

Great article! Humans are strongest proof for continual learning. I am currently building a team to work on the hardest silicon-facing problems of human intelligence. DM me if you're interested!
Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of presenting some of the more technical aspects of my research at @Lorong_AI Thank you to the organizers for the opportunity, and to everyone who joined the session to learn more about this technology and the role that Singapore plays in it!
