This view is definitely not “crazy.” They do not appear to me to think or understand. In fact, their behavior seems totally consistent with what I understand about their construction. I understand that a lot of people disagree with this view, but that doesn’t make it “crazy.”

LLMs really are pretty good at summarizing text. The average person I interact with summarizes my tweets in all kinds of bizarre, misleading ways (and then gaslights me about how that's my fault) but look at how Grok here successfully gets the two key pieces of the argument. LLMs are either far more honest or far more capable summarizers than the average X user.

There are no adults to be found. I’m sorry to tell you this. I know you thought it would be different. But running from Trump doesn’t land you in the arms of sane, honest, elite human capital. It makes you subservient to this.

It's outrageous that this is even a debate. It's one thing to argue about whether to intrude on land not yet developed, but where people and houses already exist we should obviously allow homeowners to defend what they have.

Reducing or eliminating consequences for irresponsible behavior punishes responsible people the same way that inflation punishes savers. It’s like a natural law. You need to understand it as intrinsic to the project.

I don’t want non-citizens working on American political campaigns. Ideally, they’d be so embarrassed by this that you’d never have to worry about it. But apparently they’re proud of it, so you definitely have to deport them.

My biggest problem with most forms of modern liberalism is that I reject that we’ve made substantial moral progress over the last few hundred years. You are not the moral superiors of your ancestors. I think, in fact, you’re just lucky to be alive in a time where it’s possible to express alternative moral positions, because of technological progress and improved material conditions. I think that you’d behave exactly as your ancestors did, given the same information and constraints under which they labored. And I think, further, the outrageous narcissism and arrogance that results from believing that all human beings up until about five minutes ago were racist and sexist pieces of shit is really deranging people’s sense of society and of their place in it. And this, ultimately, makes them their ancestors’ moral inferiors in most ways that matter.

It’s not that we don’t ever constrain men in the workplace. It’s that you think all those constraints are good. Like, if somebody said directly, “if you make a sexual joke in a meeting, then you’re not fit for the office. That’s a weird thing to do. And it shows that you don’t understand how you’re supposed to behave in the workplace and you should just leave. You should be fired. You don’t belong in the boardroom” — lots of people would agree with that. They have no problem putting that kind of constraint on male behavior. But why is that materially different from me saying, “there’s no crying in the office. If you cry in the office, then you’re confused about what we’re up to here. It’s not appropriate. That’s not how we act in the workplace. If you cry, you should be fired and you just don’t belong there?” It’s not materially different. The difference is just that you think the constraints on men are good and the proposed constraints on women are bad.

People oppose data centers because they perceive them to be to the benefit of an outsider group who they don’t particularly like. They start from that position and then backfill a bunch of claims about noise and pollution and water usage to justify that impulse. It’s fairly straightforward!

Before these videos people got a lot of mileage out of appeals to incredulity. “You’re telling me that he tried to stab the cop *for no reason*? Knowing he could be killed?” And it’s just, like, yes, that’s exactly what happened.
