New post: SIMD is the wrong way to parse IPv4. The obvious 16-byte load is easy to write and often the wrong default when the host is 12 bytes. Unrolled scalar, SWAR, SSE2, AVX-512, then IPv6.

Once stated about the problem of cpu pipeline flushes then it seems so obvious.. At first it's counter intuitive why a early break out of a loop would be bad. I am not sure that the proposals here would have been optimal 20 years ago which I find fascinating as well. Old assumptions don't hold true on modern hardware.

SWAR (SIMD Within A Register) is a very useful technique to parallelize your code in any architecture. I use it in my Sudoku solver.
