Honestly, Muse went viral out of nowhere, kind of like when everyone was using GPT Image to copy the Ghibli style. Why do you think Muse became such a sensation?
My hypothesis is that Meta owns the distribution Sama has always felt he was missing. OAI doesn't have its own platform to make things go viral. Meta does.
That's why OAI built Sora, and it failed.
I have a feeling that even if OAI or Ant put out their own Muse, Muse will survive.
It's also interesting why the Grok bot never made the kind of splash Muse did. All the researchers and KOLs with any real voice in AI are on X, but that still doesn't come close to the reach of Meta's distribution.
We can't just sell agents to the nerds who live and breathe AI. We have to sell them to regular people too. I hope Muse helps build some positive sentiment toward AI along the way.
