दशकों तक भारत में डर का, भय का, आतंक का माहौल बढ़ता ही गया। इसका सबसे बड़ा नुकसान युवाओं को ही हुआ।
हिंसा और अलगाववाद आतंकी आग में सबसे ज्यादा देश की युवा ही झुलसा है।
जम्मू-कश्मीर में दशकों तक युवाओं की अनेक पीढ़ियां बम, बंदूक और पत्थरबाजी में खप गई।
लेकिन दशकों तक देश पर शासन करने वाले इस आग को बुझाने की साहस नहीं दिखा पाए।
हमारी सरकार की मजबूत राजनीतिक इच्छाशक्ति से आज वहां हालत बदले हैं।
आज जम्मू-कश्मीर का नौजवान विकास से जुड़ चुका है।

More than 125 districts in the country were affected by Naxalism. The influence of the government extended only as far as the reach of Naxalism. The youth were particularly impacted by this issue, and we made concerted efforts to integrate them into mainstream society.
Over the past decade, more than 8,000 Naxalites have renounced violence. Today, the number of districts facing Naxalism has decreased to fewer than 20.
Similarly, the northeastern region was plagued by separatism and violence. In the last decade, our government has facilitated 10 major peace agreements, leading over 10,000 individuals to lay down their arms and join the mainstream.

अभी दो दिन पहले ही मैं रामेश्वरम में था, वहां मुझे ऐतिहासिक पंबन ब्रिज के लोकार्पण का अवसर मिला।
करीब सवा सौ साल पहले अंग्रेजों ने वहां एक पुल बनवाया था। उस पुल ने इतिहास देखा, उस पुल ने आंधियां सही। एक बार साइक्लोन ने उस पुल को बहुत नुकसान पहुंचाया। सालों तक देश इंतजार करता रहा, लोग मांग करते रहे, लेकिन पहले की सरकारों की नींद नहीं टूटी।
जब हमारी सरकार आई तो नए पंबन ब्रिज का काम शुरू हुआ और अब देश को अपना पहला vertical lift sea bridge मिल गया है।
परियोजनाओं को लटकाने रहने से देश नहीं चलता, देश चलता है कि परफॉर्म करने से, तेजी से काम करने से।
Delay is the enemy of development. और हमने इस दुश्मन को हराने की ठान ली है।

The foundation stone for Assam's Bogibeel Bridge was laid by former Prime Minister Devegowda ji in 1997, and the work was initiated under Vajpayee's government. However, when the Congress Party came to power, the project was halted.
The people of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam faced difficulties, but the government at that time showed little concern.
In 2014, when we were allowed to serve, the project was restarted. Remarkably, we completed the bridge in just four years, by 2018.
