Their service is remembered. Their sacrifice is never forgotten. Earlier today, CAL FIRE joined firefighters, families, and honor guards from across the country in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for the IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial Ceremony. Each September, the fire service comes together to remember firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. As part of the gathering, the names of fallen firefighters are added to the Memorial Wall, creating a permanent tribute to their service and sacrifice. This year, two CAL FIRE names were added to the wall: ▪ Danny Cook ▪ Jason Craig Their names will remain alongside those of firefighters from across the country who gave their lives serving others. #FallenFireFighterMemorial# #NeverForget# #IAFF#

Although it has been many – many – years since I was a student, I’ve never forgotten looking at my university timetable at the start of my first year and wondering how I was going to cope. Not with the hours of study, but with having so much free time. For it seemed the hours of formal teaching required to pursue a degree in English Language and Literature at this particular Russell Group university barely exceeded double figures. Las Vegas Ten-13 Remembrance Today, members of the Las Vegas community gathered at Police Memorial Park for a solemn September 11 memorial hosted by the City of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Ten-13 Club. Surrounded by memorials honoring law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, we reflected on the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the courage, sacrifice, and resilience that emerged in the days and years that followed. The Ten-13 Club, made up of retired NYPD officers and retired law enforcement officers from agencies across the country, continues to help keep the memory of this day alive. As we mark 25 years, we remember and honor those who were taken from us. Never forgotten.
