TRAFFIC INITIATIVE! Today, LVMPD officers were out conducting traffic enforcement near I-215 and Town Center Drive as part of the Southern Nevada Traffic Task Force. During the enforcement operation, officers encountered drivers who were speeding, distracted, and simply not driving safely. These are the behaviors that can turn a routine drive into a serious or even deadly crash. When you are behind the wheel: 🚗 Slow down 📵 Put the phone away 👀 Pay attention 🔒 Buckle up ❤️ Make it home safe You’ll continue to see our officers out across the valley working to make Southern Nevada roads safer. End of Watch: Deputy Sheriff John T. Allen September 18, 1928 Today we honor the memory of Deputy Sheriff John T. Allen, who gave his life in the line of duty on September 18, 1928. Allen was commissioned by Sheriff Sam Gay and served with courage and integrity. After apprehending a horse theft suspect, Allen was later ambushed and killed in Pahoon, Arizona. He was 61 years old. Nearly a century later, his service and sacrifice are not forgotten.

LIMA Graduation! Today, we came together to honor the incredible graduates of the LIMA (Law Enforcement Intervention for Mental Health and Addiction) program. The LIMA program continues to provide vital support to those overcoming addiction, mental health challenges, and homelessness, proving that change is possible. End of Watch: Corrections Officer Victor Hunter September 16, 2011 Today, we remember Corrections Officer Victor Hunter, who joined LVMPD in 2007, at the age of 46, leaving behind a successful career to pursue his true calling. He entered the academy alongside his son, Christopher, making history as the first father-son duo to graduate together. Hunter’s dedication to his faith, family, and service was unmatched. Known for his warm spirit, love of singing, and time spent outdoors, he brought joy and kindness wherever he went. Hunter's four-year career with the LVMPD ended far too soon when he passed away after a medical episode at the Clark County Detention Center. He is survived by his beloved wife, Noreta, his three children, and a large extended family who loved him deeply. His legacy of faith, love, and service lives on.

DRONE SUCCESS STORY! On July 20, 2026, LVMPD officers responded to an armed robbery in the 4300 block of Spring Mountain Road. An LVMPD drone was quickly deployed and located a male matching the suspect’s description. The drone pilot guided patrol officers to the suspect’s location. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody. Another example of how LVMPD’s drone technology is helping officers locate suspects and respond quickly! Event: LLV260700081199

Detectives need your help identifying two suspects. They committed a robbery at a home in the 1400 block of Lucia Drive on July 12, 2026. The first suspect is a heavyset Black male adult with braids and has distinctive tattoos on his left forearm. The second suspect is a Black male adult who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and red shorts. They left the area in a dark gray SUV. CELEBRATING NATIONAL POLICE WOMAN DAY! We are honoring the incredible women who have blazed new paths and contributed to the LVMPD, both past and present. Their service has helped shape the agency we are today and they continue to inspire those who follow in their footsteps.

Las Vegas Ten-13 Remembrance Today, members of the Las Vegas community gathered at Police Memorial Park for a solemn September 11 memorial hosted by the City of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Ten-13 Club. Surrounded by memorials honoring law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, we reflected on the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the courage, sacrifice, and resilience that emerged in the days and years that followed. The Ten-13 Club, made up of retired NYPD officers and retired law enforcement officers from agencies across the country, continues to help keep the memory of this day alive. As we mark 25 years, we remember and honor those who were taken from us. Never forgotten.

Remembering September 11 💙 This morning, our officers stood alongside @LasVegasFD at Station 5 for the annual September 11th Tolling of the Bell Ceremony. This solemn tradition honors the victims of 9/11, and pays tribute to the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice that day. The ceremony began at 6:45 a.m., marking the approximate time the South Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed. Station 5 holds profound symbols of remembrance: a piece of steel recovered from Ground Zero and a flag that once flew above the World Trade Center. Each year, on this day, that flag is raised in honor of all who were lost.

As more motorcycles return to our roadways, the LVMPD Traffic Bureau is reminding riders that proper training, licensing, and protective gear can make a difference. So far this year, 21 of the 83 traffic fatalities have involved motorcycle riders, and a majority of those riders were unlicensed. Each year, LVMPD officers respond to crashes involving riders who lack proper training or licensing. To help new riders learn the basics, Red Rock Harley Davidson is hosting a FREE hands-on Ride Day for individuals who have never ridden a motorcycle. 📅 Saturday, September 12, 2026 ⏰ 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 📍 Red Rock Harley-Davidson: 2260 South Rainbow Blvd. ⭐ Additional training opportunities are also available for riders looking to improve their skills or obtain a motorcycle endorsement. 🚨 LABOR DAY WEEKEND DUI BLITZ RESULTS 🚨 Thanks to the outstanding work of patrol officers from every LVMPD area command, Traffic officers, Henderson Police officers, Nevada State Police troopers, phlebotomists, ID technicians and dispatchers, our Labor Day weekend DUI Blitz produced the following results: 756 traffic stops 468 citations 65 DUI arrests 15 other arrests 4 firearms recovered 85 vehicles towed This coordinated effort removed impaired drivers and other dangers from our roadways. Driving is a privilege, not a right. Never drive impaired—always plan for a safe ride home.
